Where in the World is Randy's Riv? Contest #3----(A green Moab?)

The first person to identify the nearest city and state or city and country will be the winner.

This is a bird's eye view of the same location.

This is a close-up of the same location in a different season.

Yangshuo, China featuring limestone eroded monoliths.

You guys are good. Actually, the city you named is about 50 to 100 miles SE of the city where the Riv was located. You guys win, but for fun see if you can come up with the name of the city that I want. I will send 2 more coupons if you can.

Ironically, I learned about this part of China when I was watching the Olympics about 12 years ago. Since a gymnast was from there, the TV analyst spotlighted the beautiful scenery of her home town. It was love at first sight--it looks so magical. Ever since, I have wanted to go there.

When I typed in the name of her city on the web a couple of weeks ago, all 3 photos that I posted came up. Just to be funny I put in A GREEN MOAB because of all the whimsical rock formations. When you guessed Yangshuo, I had to look it up on the web to see how close it was to the city I had pictured. I discovered that this area is a favorite spot for rock climbers--just like Moab. Is that how you found it on the web? After I had posted it, I noticed on Friday that NBC showed these strange limestone karsts as a backdrop when they went to some of their station breaks.

Okay, okay: Guilin China.
Seriously, Cris is a genius, he found all this.
You need to post some pics of your scrapbook pages! I wanna see them!

I think I will stay with the green Moab thing. That sounds like an easier place to get to and we know the Riv has really been there!! Oh, and Nick, you suck!!
