Randy loved sunflowers. In 2007, the last summer I had with Randy, it was his idea to plant giant sunflower seeds all along our back fence, but not one of them sprouted. He was so disappointed.
Amazingly, I now have sunflowers in my yard that I NEVER planted (and they are nowhere near the back fence.) I’d like to think that Randy sent sunflowers straight from heaven just for me—just to add a little sunshine into my life.

They are so beautiful! I love sunflowers, that's so neat they grew without being planted. And I can tell you for a fact we've never planted those types of sunflowers in our yard anywhere, so it has got to be a miraculous gift!
Love you!
I think you are absoultly right. Even if he coaxed the birds to drop the seeds there. Or maybe he coaxed the squirrels. Anyway, I love the photos. I'm glad you have a little miracle at your house.
I'm glad you had this little remembrance of Randy. Love you mom!
Bonnie,
I am so touched by your blog. I had some sunflowers pop up by my raspberry bushes this year. I like to look out by window and think they are overlooking the garden.
We got the girls giant sunflowers this year to plant...but it didn't happen. We also had tons of little ones resprout from last year in our garden and by the playhouse. I love the association with Randy. I hope that means he is looking over my garden and my girls! We will definately get the giant ones planted next year! I love them!
I miss your blog! I understand that you have been very busy with Camille's book! You are so great to do those for all of us. They are absolutely incredible! Tell Camille congrats on the news and Happy B-day!
What do I think? I think you have not blogged in a very long time. Why not?
I have dozens of sunflowers coming up this year--the summer of 2010. I can hardly wait to post this years photos of them.
